John Parry claimed his first victory on the DP World Tour for 14 years as a final-round 64 saw him secure theĀ AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open titleĀ at Mont Choisy Le Golf.
The 38-year-old Englishman sunk an eagle and four birdies on his back nine to post the winning score of 14-under-par, two clear of South African pair Dylan Naidoo and Christo Lamprecht in a share of second place.
Parry had started the final round five shots back, but his birdie blitz on the back nine saw him haul in joint overnight leader Naidoo, who rounded off his week with a 71 on Sunday.
Naidoo started his final round with three bogeys in his first four holes before recovering to sink four birdies, though by then he had fallen too far behind.
England's Eddie Pepperell also had a share of the lead going into the final round, looking for his first win since 2018, but his challenge faded after a double-bogey on the par-five fifth, a two-over 74 ultimately seeing him tie for ninth.
Parry's previous win on the elite European circuit came at the Vivendi Cup in 2010, but he has three wins on the Challenge Tour this year.
"It is massive (to win), five or six years ago I was close to giving up golf," Parry said. "It has been a long battle, but worth it."
